REACH
REACH is an abbreviation of the overall EU chemical regulations, which came into effect in 2007. REACH was passed in order to improve the protection of people´s health and environment against the risks chemicals can present.
It also promotes alternative methods of assessing the hazardous properties of substances with the aim of reducing the amount of testing on animals that is carried out. In principle, REACH applies to any type of chemical; not only those which are used in industrial processes, but also those that are used in everyday use.
Under the REACH system of classification, Fletco Carpets is classed as a downstream user, and is thus exempt from registration. This means that Fletco Carpets´ products do not need to be pre-registered, providing that we obtain the information we need from our suppliers in order to comply with our obligations with reference to REACH.
