M1
M1 stands for low emissions, and is the abbreviated name for the non-compulsory Finnish emission classification for building materials.
The classification system divides building materials into three emission classes – depending on how many substances the material emits into the air. M1 denotes the highest quality, as it has the lowest emission level. The M1-certificate shows that the product has been tested in an independent, impartial laboratory and that it lives up to the given criteria when tested over a four week period.
